Purveyor of Custom-Printed Apparel (Account Manager)

What you’d do (Responsibilities)

  • Prospect: knowing that, throughout the greater metropolitan area (and beyond thanks to the world-wide web), many companies and organizations could be excellent clients for our services
  • Target: also knowing that we don’t want to be everything to everybody and know that selectivity is not a bad word
  • Strategize: building repeatable campaigns around segments of the market in order to reach similarly-minded potential customers with messaging that sparks interest and opens conversations
  • Sell: meeting—in person, on the phone, and via the internets—to discuss ideas and needs for the services provided by Blink Tees
  • Quote: Let people know what items will cost, when they can receive them, and what they’ll need to do in order to make that happen; “Get quotes out as fast as humanly possible” is literally one of our core values
  • Shepherd: assisting customers throughout the process, serving as their eyes and ears during design and production so that their visions for exceptional customized apparel are realized and that their expectations are met and exceeded
  • Network: forming and nurturing relationships, not only with prospective clients but also with influencers, power partners and referral sources

What you’ve done (Experience & Requirements)

  • Previous Customer Service, Account Management, or Sales experience—it doesn’t have to be in apparel or printing, but it’d be cool if it is (if it’s not, tell us about how you think your experience is relevant)
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management principles and software—understanding the importance of accurate record keeping and communications is vital to this position
  • Either a working knowledge of the inks, substrates, films, adhesives and other trade stuff we use or the eagerness to learn the lingo, rapidly
  • A diploma or GED, minimum—bachelor’s degree preferred. Graphic design, commercial design or other arts-related coursework (or a serious affinity you can tell us about) a plus

Who you are (Soft Skills)

  • Unbridled enthusiasm for the mission, vision and values of Blink Tees
  • Tenacious in your go-getter sales efforts, even to the point of stubbornness but stopping short of obstinance—know when to be persistent and when to stop investing time and effort on unproductive pursuits
  • Naturally able to engage a cultivated methodology of building rapport, asking open-ended questions and being genuinely engaged with the answers you receive
  • Intent upon guiding needs-discovery conversations with clients toward methods to satisfy their marketing, event coordination, and promotional needs
  • A person who thrives in “dare to be great” customer service situations, creatively overcoming prospects’ and clients’ objections and collaboratively formulating design solutions that are exciting, creative and positive
  • Generally awesome—care about your community, know how to engage and charm people of all backgrounds, have a life outside of work yet understand that occasional overtime may be required as the company continues to grow
